The Morgans in Orlando


Probably Easter Sunday in 1926. East side of home at 1 E Princeton.

Left to Right:
  • Larry Kurtz, next to Laura Blakesley Morgan.
  • Laura is standing in profile, looking at rest of group. Larry was Laura’s first husband.
  • Samuel Newell (short, light suit), next to wife Harriet (Phillips) NewellHarriet is wearing a hat. She is holding a baby, Lois Agnes Newell (b Jan 25, 1926)
  • Hidden Faces: Lola Virginia Morgan and husband Harold NewellHarold is the middle son of Samuel and Harriet Newell. George (not in this picture) was youngest. Note: Lola is almost always ‘faded’ in pictures. Both Lola and Harold tend to ‘hide’ in photos.
  • Mary "Agnes" (Morgan) Newell. Behind her is husband Arthur Newell (dark suit, dark tie).
  • Agnes and Arthur’s baby is in Harriet’s arms (next to Agnes).
  • Agnes’ arms are around “Little Billy” William Morgan who is brother Edson Morgan’s son.
  • First man kneeling is Ernest Ammerman, white shirt, tie, dark pants. He is holding his oldest child Clyde Ammerman.
  • Next to Mary Agnes Morgan is “Little Agnes.” Little Agnes is Agnes Olive Morgan, daughter of Edson and Olive (White) Morgan.
  • Halfway hidden is Sarah (Cox) Morgan. (Halfway behind Little Agnes). She was married to William Swinney Morgan.
  • William Swinney Morgan is the second kneeling man, wearing a dark suit. Eldest child, daughter Sarah EDITH Morgan, is on father William S Morgan’s lap.
  • Next is Edson Morgan and his wife Olive (White) Morgan. Olive is wearing glasses.
  • Isabelle "Belle" (Morgan) Ammerman. Her husband is Ernest (first man kneeling).
  • Lola Estelle (Blakesley) Morgan. She is the mother of all the Morgan children, in descending age order: Edson, Agnes, Lola, William, Isabelle, Laura.
  • Baby William S Morgan, son of William and Sarah (Cox) Morgan is in his grandmother Lola Estelle (Blakesley) Morgan.
  • Edson Blakesley, Lola's father.
